Louisiana Mu Alpha Theta

Louisiana Mu Alpha Theta (LaMAΘ) is the state chapter of the national Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society. LaMAΘ runs a three-day math tournament for high school students each spring, with tests on subjects from geometry to calculus to the history of math. The competition is loosely structured on the national Mu Alpha Theta convention, and regularly attracts several hundred participants.

Convention Dates

The 2012 Louisiana State Mu Alpha Theta Convention will be held on March 29, 30, and 31, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge, LA.

Tournaments 2011-12

These and all future tournaments are listed here for reference purposes only. They are not run by LaMAΘ, and are usually open to all high schools (not just Mu Alpha Theta chapters). Some may be open to middle schools. You may contact the sponsor listed if you haven't received information by mail and would like to attend. Most tournaments have a registration deadline two weeks before the competition date. To list your tournament, sponsors can e-mail the webmaster.
